EBBA have designed a series of wooden frames and light boxes in collaboration with artist Dawn Ng and her studio as part of her first UK solo show – ‘Into Air’ – at St Cyprian’s Church, London.
Dawn’s work investigates time through the ephemeral material that is ice. She injects blocks with pigment using colour and pattern to create topographical tributaries. The different frames are presented in a way that captures the qualities of Dawn’s process while interacting with the church itself and allowing the visitors to explore, peer into and get close to the works.

Low Collection
Low Collection
‘Low Collection’ is a series of furniture designed by EBBA’s director, Benni Allan, as part of an investigation into what it means to sit and how every culture has a different relationship to the act of resting.
The collection sits on liminal ground between art and function, organic and rational. The curvilinear design of the ‘Low Collection’ takes inspiration from previous trips to Japan as well as Allan’s experience of living in China and southern Spain. Celebrating both bold and clean lines the oak itself takes centre stage in each piece, highlighting the cross-cuts and the quality of the end-grain.
Each piece is made from solid oak and made in a way that expresses the true characteristics of the material. Created using a mix of both traditional and modern craftsmanship, each piece combines new machining technologies to generate the refined geometries and is hand-finished.
The collection is exhibited and represented by Béton Brut gallery in London.

EBBA designed a book display in collaboration with artist Francesca Anfossi to present Rochester Square’s book. Made of solid wood, the form of the piece imitates the old structures of the greenhouses found in the gardens of Rochester Square ceramic facilities in Camden.
The piece was presented together with Anfossi’s ceramics and ‘From the Pot to the Earth’ published by Sternberg Press and designed by APFEL during the book launch at Rochester Square.

Plod Stool
Plod Stool
Plod is a new playful stool that looks to simplify and – at the same time – express its construction.The form of the seat assumes it can be used in a multitude of ways, including as a combined arrangement to create a side or coffee table.The distinct bold form is designed to complement both traditional as well as contemporary interiors allowing for a very flexible piece for the home and gallery alike.
Made from 100% recycled paper, the Plod is richly textured in a dappled yet perfectly smooth surface. Due to the process of manufacture and the simplicity of its construction, the stool is able to be produced and assembled at incredible speed. Its assembly of 4 pieces and the distribution of the legs makes it a versatile and robust stool.

Tri-Stool
Tri-Stool
Stools are highly-functional and portable objects that operate between the worlds of work and rest. Following these ideas of functionality, Tri-Stool is made from five pieces, interlocking through notches in the seat. A simple semi-circular shape meets a straight edge creating an elegant form, allowing two pieces to be placed together. This form assumes it can be used in a multitude of ways, including as a combined arrangement to create a side or coffee table.
Originally created for an exhibition design at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2020, the stool has now been reproduced for sale and is currently exhibited at London based gallery Modern Art Hire.

Rudimentary Structures
Rudimentary Structures
Allan Junca share an ambition for the artistic and sculptural potential of furniture. Together they have developed a series of works over a number of years that combine their experiences from the fields of architecture and furniture making. This collection was inspired by rudimentary structures borrowed from buildings. The repetition of the same basic components across the different pieces aims to create functional frame-like objects, analogous to the slender elements used in large scale construction.
The strong visual impact of these structures is reinforced by a mix of textures and materials such as scorched wood and white washed timber, complemented by finer details in raw steel and woven Danish cord. The collection was previewed at the London Design Festival 2018 and is due to be fully released in the 2019.
